Our first stay. The provided amenities exceeded our expectations by far. Extremely clean. We have already started planning another trip, staying at these cabins, again. I would recommend to anyone planning on floating the area. Recommend calling or emailing days ahead of time to verify any questions you have, as the conformation email outlines.
Absolutely by far the BEST cabin rental you will ever stay at!! Clean, homey peaceful, and so well taken care of. Everything you can think of is provided. We are already planning our next visit! Pros: Justin is highly accommodating and provides excellent customer service. Fun , open covered deck and camp fire space. About 30-40 min drive from the Shut-Ins park. 2 minutes away from a Dollar General, a couple of cafes etc Has everything you need for a fun family getaway June 2019 they are setting up a laundry facility Clean bathroom, comfortable bed Cons: Relatively clean and kept (probably more like 3/5 stars for cleaning, ceiling fan was covered in packed dust bunnies that fly off Air mattresses leaked... Rural Internet / cabin WiFi is off and on
Overall it was a nice getaway for me and my wife. Not as secluded as I would have preferred, but no one else was there so not a big issue. The skillet needs replaced and the couch is showing quite a bit of ware. Broken down in the middle section. Otherwise it was cozy and pretty nice inside.
The cabin was clean everything provided in the kitchen and bathroom. It was quite and relaxing. My only suggestions would be to bring charcoal fluid and matches. We searched 3 Dollar General stores for fluid none to be had. We briefly met Justin and he said let him know if we needed anything. Dollar General is only about 1/2 mile from the cabin. Be sure to grab a burger at Liquor Locker real beef!
Stayed in Cabin #4. It was a nice spot for access to local rivers and the Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. The cabin was mostly well maintained and clean, and it provided what we needed to do our own cooking and laundry. One of the driers (communal between cabins) didn't dry our clothes well, and there were odds and ends details that needed a little maintenance. But overall, the cabin and grounds were kept up well and worked very well for us (needing 4 queen beds in the Ozarks). Owners were quite friendly and were busy repairing the (steep) driveway and cleaning up after a tornado came through. I would happily bring my family here again.
We had such a wonderful time in the delightful Hillside Cabin #4. Justin goes above and beyond with his detail in the cabin itself and the amenities he provides. Every inch of the cabin is wonderfully thought out and super clean. The smart TVs were great to pick up on our regular Netflix shows and also has great cell reception and wifi signal. We spent lots of time on the back deck, grilled burgers and brats, and used the cozy fire pit for smores at night. Our children thought the loft (great padded floor for the knees) was the coolest ever and they spent so much time with the magnetic dart board. The decor is adorable and the beds are extremely comfortable. The Crazy Sister Cafe is a minute away and has wonderful food and Dollar General is very convenient right down the road. Spent one day at K bridge on Black River just about 5 miles down the road and it was a BLAST. Fun for all ages. Great place to relieve stress and recharge your batteries. Very relaxing. Can't wait to come back!
We stayed in cabin 3 for a cute but simple romantic getaway. It's perfect for just that. Justin provides just about everything. We only had to bring food and firewood. There was charcoal and lighter fluid there, but both were under half so thankfully we had brought some. It's right at the edge of town so not super secluded as you can hear the cars on the roadway. However, it was still very quiet and peaceful as it is a very small town. The cabin itself is fairly handicap accessible. Gravel parking right against a porch to the front door. Standing shower with a built in seat. Level deck with chairs and grill. Just a couple steps down to firepit. Lots of places to visit and explore nature that works for everyone. I really can't say enough about it. It's a wonderful place that we will be returning to for at least yearly visits.
